When can I expect to see results?

Of course, this will vary from person to person, depending on your path to peak-performance or the severity and complexity of the symptoms you wish to address. You wouldn't go to a gym being overweight and out of shape, and expect to walk out after one session in perfect condition (though that's often the fantasy!). Likewise, it takes a while for your brain to develop the right "muscles" in order for you to see noticeable improvement.

Nevertheless, improvements can usually be felt after the first few sessions. After a few NeuroEdge® Coaching sessions, clients report feeling relaxed and "clearer," or in a higher state of mental alertness and flow. Many users experience deeper sleep after their very first session. The effects are enhanced through regular NeuroEdge® Coaching sessions, with modest improvements after the first few sessions and significant benefits after 15 or more sessions.

Are the results long-lasting?

Unlike like performance-enhancing drugs or medications, which wear off after you stop taking them, the results from neurofeedback are stable over time. It's like learning to ride a bike — once your brain has developed the pathways that correctly interpret and manage all the balance signals concerning the movement on the bike, those pathways are there for good.

Once you've reached a point where you feel you've accomplished the improvements you are seeking, it's a good idea to continue for a few additional sessions. This allows the brain to anchor and solidify the learning and improvements it has made. After the main training has been accomplished, some clients like to return once every six months or a year for a couple of "tune-up" sessions. Life gets complicated and stressful, or a particularly stressful event occurs, and the brain can get knocked-off its peak performance. Typically, the brain needs just a session or two to re-right itself. Of course, some people like to continue on a regular basis over a longer term because training promotes peak performance.
